gas fire problem

we had our gas fire serviced and a load of smoke came back in living room, guy who serviced just shut the gas pipe off, then he went.

While in the loft he i noticed that the metal flue a lot of the bonding had come away and there was gaps, so im just presuming that this has fell down and caused a blockage also there was a lot of black sut around the flue where the bonding is.

I havent got a clue who to call about this anybody any suggestions

thanks

You can get gas safe registered Chimney sweeps, who I think would be your best bet when it comes to sorting this out.

They will be able to take the fire off and clear out the flue, repair what is broken and reinstate the fire and comission it.

Alternative is speak to your local fireplace showroom and ask if they would be willing to get involved in this situation. It is a bit messy and may not be as straightforward as it may seem.

Just don't get an HETAS sweep out. He is not registered to re comission the gas fire after fixing what is wrong and you will then also have to get a gas safe engineer out to do it for you.

Might be an idea to talk to the RGI who serviced it?
What do you mean by 'then he went'?
