Avoid the trip to a "papyrus factory" - it is a demo that lasts about 5 minutes followed by very hard sell for papyri and jewellery - we broke the mould and shot out the door before anyone realised, very peturbed guys (minders) from the "factory" kept trying to lure us back in saying it would be too hot for us outside - we said we were fine waiting outside and we were the only people on our tour bus who got away with spending less than £50 there
We did buy from the street vendors and glad we did - got some great tat for pence and fun haggling with youths who called us "hey Landon" in cockney accents and told us the goods were "Asda price"You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0 -
Wash your hands thoroughly before and after food and every 20 minutes in-between. Don't make eye contact too long with anyone as they will think you've got to pay for the privilege. Don't tell anyone you like shopping. Before you know it you will be sitting in a perfume shop feeling guilty for trying to get out of buying anything. Be careful if you go on a camel ride. The camel herder will make you pay him a lot to make the camel kneel down so you can get off. Remember someones trying to get money out of you at every moment so just have your wits about you a bit and don't lose your guard at any time.0
