Help PPI claim whilst on a DMP

Hi,
I am currently awaiting the decision on my PPI claims which were for the period of 2001-2008, all loans paid off at that time with RBS. Since then I am now on a DMP for my current loan with RBS and I am concerned that any money that may be refunded in relation to my previous loans may be used by RBS against my current loan. I have been on my DMP for the last 11 months.
Any advice anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

RBS would be perfectly entitled to use any redress to pay off arrears or indebtedness but on the positive it will reduce your debt or may wipe it out, which is no bad thing
I hope you have undertaken the complaints yourself and not used a claims company as this could put you seriously out of pocket
Good luck

Hi,
Would they just take the arrears? Not the full amount?
I am looking at approximately 6000 repayment but my arrears will be approximately 2500. I am just wondering if they will take all my PPI claim or just the arrears so far.
Thanks,0 -

They can only use enough of the redress to pay off the arrears, the remainder should come to you
