How long should I wait

Hi all,

Just a brief question, have looked in PPI guide and around forum but cant find an answer.

I wrote to Ocean Finance on 17th December, regards a claim for refund of PPI. This was taken out back in 2003, so also sent a copy to Premier the Insurance company. But to date have'nt heard anything from either of them. Is there a time limit for them to reply or is it an ''how long is a bit string'' wait.

The FOS allow 8 wks for a final response, but most companies send some kind of "holding" letter to say we have your complaint and are looking into it.

Some of the banks had an extention so complaints in Dec 2011 had 12 wks I think for them,but don't recall ocean being on that list of extentions so I would say 8 weeks.

Trouble is posting on 17th dec may well have put it into the christmas delays so I would say if nothing comes this week you may need to chase things up.
