Printer and scanner advice??

I am hoping someone is willing to give me some advice. I need to buy a printer but I also need it to scan too. I have been looking around and all I can afford is the max of £50. I am not very technical and to be honest I have no idea what any of the features mean. I don't want to buy a printer and then have to end up paying a fortune on cartridges too. Anyone got any ideas?

I got a refurb off Ebay from Brother. Refils are very cheap, and it works fine.

There are "all-in-one" printer/fax/scanner machines. Don't know the prices but £50 seems to be a bit tight.

I appreciate that you need to keep the cost down, however I always advise against an all in one machine for the simple fact that, although it cuts down on machinery, power cables etc, if one of the component (ie scanner etc) goes wrong and you need it repaired, you will be without the whole lot.

Found this HP on PC World website - looks pretty good for £39.99 - check cost of consumables though as with all cheap printers it can be the ink that gets ya!!!
