I just tried to sign up and got this message... It appears that you need to make a purchase to get free fudge. Not sure if this has changed since original post.

"Thanks for your interest in joining our mailing list. To receive your "free fudge with a purchase of £10" online offer, please complete the information below and click Join.

Please note: Our "FREE FUDGE when you make a purchase of £10" online offer is subject to availabilty of stock."
  • Just received an email from them saying that they have been overwhelmed with demand and that the offer is now closed.

They recommended that i unsubscribe from the newsletter so as not to receive any more communication from them.

    :(
  • Please note that due to unprecedented demand I am unable to fulfil any supplies of free fudge linked to recent newsletter sign ups. I apologise for this which is purely down to an enormous increase in take up of this offer. I recommend that you unsubscribe from the newsletter immediately and you will receive no further communication from this website. Many Thanks!

Nice one, not only is he not giving out fudge to new sign-ups he's not giving out anything to anyone. Why give put up a freebie offer if you don't want people to take advantage of it so badly that you go bankrupt? These people.

Reckon it's numbers...my take on the email I received...same email as yours was ...

'poor guy' trying to make some fudge and grow a business does the traditional freebie thing with no concept that it might go viral...bet he was panicking as his inbox filled up...I can honestly imagine that between us and HUKD alone he had 4,000 requests and then factor that by 10 for other websites - he would have had to post out 40,000 samples and just the postage at 50p each would have been £20,000!!! - before the packaging, ingredients and labour....:rotfl: another pound each and he's down £60,000 before he's sold a thing....

He's not L'Oreal or Walkers...just someone tryingto sell some fudge....

Tbh I'm not even going to unsubscribe from the newsletter cos every time I get I will have a little chuckle....
:smileyhea Thank you to all that post comps - may the Comping Fairy return your time and generosity doubled!:smileyhea
Laughing at our own mistakes can lengthen our own life. Laughing at someone else’s can shorten it.

  • i got email to say i wont be getting any fudge and to unsubscribe from there newsletter

    tut tut shame
  • If anyone has been left craving homemade fudge their prices look very reasonable! £9.99 for a 500g box with free delivery - not bad at all.

Reminds me of the cupcake maker who signed up for groupon & nearly killed herself making all the orders she got. Ah well.
  • Yeah I feel more sorry for the guy than anything...all he got was a bit of negative publicity out of the deal...but I really have to wonder in this day and age when people post a deal like this, how they can't anticipate a million requests....there are a lot of people online after all!
