Which wireless router better than Belkin Pre N Range???

Hi, currently i have the the Belkin Pre-N Wireless router, which is good - and has a decent range, but i need something with a slightly bigger range. I dont need anything fancy - its only for internet browsing for 4-5laptops and 2-3 phones.
I am considering getting Belkin N1 Vision 300 Mbps 4-Port Gigabit Wireless N Router or
Belkin N1 300 Mbps 4-Port 10/100 Wireless N Router or Belkin PLAY N600 DB Wireless Dual Band N+ ADSL Modem Router (F9J1102uk)

Would anyone be able to advise which out of the above has best range and is most reliable?

Many thanks

  • Take a look at this website http://www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk/ They will offer advice too based on your requirements i.e. The size of your house, how many rooms, where in the house do you need internet access and so on, do any of the users stream videos and online gaming etc etc. This is something you need to get right first time.

Hi, I would recommend the Billion BiPAC 7800N as a good router. Further, Draytek are generally considered to do some of the best routers, eg Draytek Vigor 2710VN.

I appreciate you have had a good experience with Belkin, better the devil you know etc. However we wouldn't supply Belkin as generally we have been disappointed.
  • The N1 Vision was regarded as teh best router they ever made - I am biased as I do have one and the thing is flawless (I caveat that with 'For Me'!)

I get 80% strength through my stone walls and all the way (30-40m) to the bottom of the garden.

With an N+ reciever, my daughter always seems to get the full 300mbs and all our older kit maxes out a 56.

    Netgear DGND3700 N600?

Jam-packed with features, ports and sockets, and combines that with the fast wireless performance

Thank you for your comments! I need to get through two solid outside walls and about 20m of garden. Old Belkin worked well but would like something stronger. I am swayed towards N1 vision. Does anyone know where i can find any info on router range comparison? i remember seeing one ages ago but cant find it anywhere? Thanks

Be aware that Draytek offer an 0845 number to get you reconnected to the internet but for all other queries/support it is a premium phone no. - i think it is 77p a minute and probably plus VAT.
    What more can one say.

Quite a lot actually. Draytek are a commercial grade router and generally better than most - not used very often by joe public.

Draytek provide email support, users forums as well as detailed manuals to support their products - in addition to what is stated above.
