Of course I will. I haven't found many success stories on the internet - but neither have I found any stories about how people were taken to court etc so yes, I will return and update once all the threats have finished etc.
I'll be disappointed if the DVLA do release my details, actually, as the specific reason for my Penalty Charge is not one of their reasons that they'll consider releasing data for. We'll have to wait and see...
Success stories? But everyone succeeds if they ignore these scams. There's nothing to post about as nothing happens except the letters already shown in the top thread. There are thousands of threads on here - all successes except for the 'odd' case (a handful among THOUSANDS) where the PPC actually bothered with Court and somehow won, perhaps with a stooge victim.
It almost never happens and the only time UKPC went to Court was when they were taken there by Trading Standards!
Yes they will get youir details from the DVLA. So what?
And it is NOT a Penalty Charge!
Have you watched the Watchdog clip in the top thread, with the pics of the letter-chains? That's all you need to do, just be ready to play PPC snap with each rubbish scamogram.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

As in every other case the Chief Scammer (i.e. H.M. Government) takes its cut in the £2.50 that DVLA gets for revealing your details. But at least if you don't pay, you can chuckle as you realise this company has paid out money for that fee, and postage, which means that their NASTY action in issuing you with a ticket has cost THEM money! Ha Ha Ha!0

Trebor16 - Thank you! You're a star. Ok - I'm not going to pay. (Isn't it awful that they make people feel this worried?!)
166Million - Yup. Why? Do you have a success story by any chance??
No sorry - lots of people complain about the parking there though.**Debt Free as of 15:55 on Friday 23rd March 2012**And I am staying that way

Yep - this has just happened to me too. Parked for 20 mins - was in a rush - didn't even think that's it would be a 'pay and display for free parking'! £90 for 20 mins free car parking; gutted!
My reduced parking charge runs out soon and I really want to take your advice and ignore it. However, I've spoken to the Data Protection People and firstly - UKPC will probably be legally able to get my details from DVLA and secondly - I realise that UKPC haven't taken anyone to court but do they sell their debters to debt collectors? Debt collectors are used to small amounts being owed and will surely be happy to take me to court.
Argh!!! Only used that bloomin car park as what I needed to buy was £4 cheaper than in another shop!! Grrrrr.
hi scicluna
i have received my third letter this week, this one is from debt recovery plus giving me seven days to pay which i not going to, i am taking the advice for these people on this forum, i will keep you advised when my next letter comes probably next week.;)0 -
Debt Recovery Plus are toothless dogs, they threaten all sorts of rubbish but at the end of the day they will quietly go away if they won't get a bite.0

Hi there - apologies for dusting an old thread down! I realise the advice here is emphatically to ignore UKPC's threats but having fallen into their trap today at the same Aylesbury carpark I am wondering, is there any sense at all in putting my case forward and asking them to repeal the charge? I feel I have a pretty good case but I obviously don't want to give them my address if they never repeal charges...
Either way, I am not going to pay it but I don't fancy several weeks/months of threatening letters.0 -
If you write to them, then they'll have you hooked, and will threaten you even more.
Ignore them. You can't do any good be writing to them.0 -

There is no point at all.
You will still get the same letters and they really are very easy to ignore. All the letters can be seen as picture previews, in the permanent info 'sticky' thread near the top of the parking forum.
See my signature for the words to click on, in order to take a step back and see the whole current thread list (did you think this old thread was the only one about the fake PCN scam or UKPC? Oh no it isn't!!).
One click and you see all the current threads here. Third from the top, click on 'PPC letters & threats'.
1. Watch the Watchdog clip on there and then
2. scroll down to the pics of UKPC's threatograms, then
3. Play a nice game of snap with each matching templated threatogram, then
4. Tell your friends & family about the fake PCN scam so they never pay one.
