Npower have not registered my gas account
In Dec 2011 I transferred my dual fuel account from E.on to Npower. Everything appeared to go smoothly E.on even sent me a cheque for overpayment!
However, I have noticed that Npower have only recorded an electricity account against my address. I have a couple of questions as follows before I speak to Npower:
1) Who is currently supplying my gas?
2) As I signed up to a fixed price dual fuel account with Npower am I free to change supplier (should I wish to do so) without penalty as Npower have failed to keep to their side of the contract?

1) call national grid they will confirm
2) No you wouldnt be if they have started supply, dont forget its also upto you to bring the error to their attention also.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0 -
I also dual-switched to Npower in Dec 2011. I received the electric account letter, but not one for the gas. I rang them mid-Jan and they said there'd been some problems but would be sending out the gas letter soon. Still no sign.
10 weeks in - it's not giving me a great deal of confidence in them. Will phone them tomorrow.0 -
I have just spend an hour on the phone trying to resolve this, exactly the same situation.
I moved my gas and elec.
The electricity has been taken over and had a rebate from Scottish Power , nothing from the gas account.
Rang SP to be told they are still supplying me.
Rang NP and they say they are - They are taking the DDebit for it too.
Rang Nat Grid to be told that SP are still my supplier.
Someone at NP is not following procedure?
But how do we rectify it?MollyJoe0 -

a letter advising of the direct debits for gas supply .MollyJoe0 -
Was about to phone them, but have just noticed that a gas account has now made its 1st appearance alongside the electric when I log on to my Npower account. At last.0

I'm supposed to have been on dual fuel with Co-op Energy since January 12th but only the electricity supply was changed over successfully.
Co-op Energy tell me that there is a problem with their 'gas shipper' - whatever that means? Still waiting to hear when the situation will be resolved.0 -
The gas shipper is the licensed supplier, the Co-Op will just be a reseller. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Thats the problem with resold energy, you are relying on one of the big 6 co-op is just the name. Inregards to a supplier not taking the gas, tell them that the other supplier hasnt let the supply go and will be easy to moveDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. Turns out the gas shipper CNG Ltd (Contract Natural Gas) serves both Ecotricity and Co-op Energy and the confusion re my gas supply transfer originated with another gas shipper known as Envoy Shipper Services which ships gas to CNG Ltd.
Envoy Shipper Services did not recognise the application to transfer from Ecotricity to Co-op Energy because my home was already being served by Envoy Shipper Services!
All this has been deduced from telephone calls and emails which I have made to the different companies involved. At no cost to myself, I might add, other than of time spent sorting out this ridiculous situation.
It's been a real eye-opener - I had no idea as to how many levels there are to the distribution of gas services in the UK.
