Hi,
I currently bank with Natwest, and within my natwest account i have:
All i want is a simple current account, i do not want to be able to go into an over draft, or in the red. I am currently 17, soon to be 18. But i prefer to save my money because i know i will need it one day.
Could anyone recommend me a bank account (current) where i cant go into the red and that. Because i'm young i do not really know much about bank accounts and that and tbh it just annoys the hell out of me!!!
Thanks, and any help will be appreciated.

Why not open an internet savings account for the money and earn some interest? You don't really need a current account for the purpose you describe?

Ohh, it has to be a current account, because i need a visa/debit card with it so when i visit the dentist i can pay by the card, instead of moving the money back to my natwest account ;P
Ohh and an iPhone app for the bank will be a bonus because its easier to manage it all ;D0 -

Possibly the easiest thing to do is to apply online for a Natwest Basic account...

There would advantages in having an account with a different bank though, perhaps Halifax Easycash (but AFAIAA no app with Halifax).0 -
Try here?

Most basic bank accounts will do the job for you, I'd suggest not having all your eggs in the one "NatWest" basket so if anything happened to your main bank account, and you got frozen out, you could then switch to use the other bank.0

Yeah, but it has to come with a debit card, and ye i defo wanna have a bank account away from natwest, But most of the accounts i have seen, you have to be 18 and over to apply for them. But its just finding the right bank, which i cant seem to find because its difficult.0 -
If you're under 18 they wont give you an overdraft anyway. Have a look here http://www.lloydstsb.com/current_accounts/under_19s_account.asp their accounts come with a debit card.0
