Gite - South of France

Been trawling websites all night!!
Looking for a nice gite, romantic (we're not taking the terrible teens with us!), Ideally near sea or at least water, and in at least a village.
OH and I went away last year and had a fab time, but we were quite far north and it was cold, and in the middle of nowhere so he had to drive (I couldn't find my licence
) whenever we went out.
Anyone recommend good sites? I'm thinking of Languedoc because of cheap flights to Gerona and Barcelona, and cheaper car hire in Spain (we live in Scotland)
