I've always eaten mine the next day for brunch (nuked thoroughly after being stored in the fridge overnight). If it has been refrigerated overnight, and was from a good restaurant, I don't see the problem. I've never done so. It would be nice to hear from anyone who has.Oh well...

I think it should be ok but I remember that you shouldn't keep the rice .
I have seen several programmes on tv advising of problems with chilled rice.

chilled rice can give you nasty food poisoning (b cereus - no it's not a pun, I am being serious :rotfl:). There's some good advice here http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/Goodfood/Pages/starchy-foods.aspx but I'd certainly freeze the curry long as it's not been standing around at room temp too long. I'd reheat well on the hob rather than microwave just to make sure it's fully heated through, but then I'm just paranoid :eek:MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Yes it's OK. I've frozen the remainder of many takeaway meals AND rice, then defrosted them and reheated (or cooked from frozen) and they have been absolutely fine. Fed them to family both young and elderly without any problems at all.
As DundeeDoll says, the key is not to leave any food standing around in the open and to pop it into the fridge or freezer as soon as it's cool.0 -
If you can get it in the freezer before it is cool it will freeze a lot quicker and reduce the time any bacteria has to form.
This is how frozen meals are frozen, from hot in a fast freezer.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Rice is fine to reheat as long as it has been stored properly. I quite often refrigerate rice so I can cook egg fried rice the next day. As long as its refrigerated once it has cooled and reheated thoroughly it will be ok.

If you aren't going to eat rice immediately, refrigerate it within one hour and eat within 24 hours. Don't reheat rice and grains more than once.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0 -

Same here,Only thing is if the are prawns in it,take them out & eat them first night,I once got a right dose of Bangalor Belly from eating reheated Chinese Speshul curry.Other than that it'll be ok.0 -
We kindly got promised a whole load of Indian food at the office today, but unfortunately it didn't make its arrival until late afternoon - every here is used to a 12.30 lunchbreak and having nearly gnawed their arms off by 1.30, they caved in and had sandwiches instead.
Come 2.30, enough food to feed the five thousand appeared and as a result there's tons of leftovers going spare. I've grabbed a bunch and have invited some family over to share but can this be frozen? It's thinks like chicken jalfrezi, lamb madras, etc. - not much rice, so doubt there'll be leftovers of that. It's nice food, but having had an Indian takeaway at the weekend, I don't fancy eating it for the next 3 days running!0
