Orlando Holiday Advice - Do's & Dont's

Hi Everyone,

I have booked a two week holiday to the coco keys resort, florida in Sept for myself and my other half. I've never been and he has been many years ago, we are both in our 20's.

Does anyone have any tips on the best places to visit, places you wouldnt go again and useful info in regards to the lynx and i ride buses.

I'm trying to make a plan of what to do on each day but am coming to a dead end! We are not driving, have free shuttle to bush gardens, wet & wild & seaworld so would need taxi/bus to disney.

Also would love ideas on restaurants, malls etc and also the airport lounges and if you have stayed at the hotel in question. Thanks xxx

Hi where you are staying on international drive is not to far from Disney village, when you want to do Disney world Epcot ect make your way there and use dismeys free bus service to get to the parks,

The lynx buses are good I use them all time time but thy can be a pain as the bus stops are only a few 100 meters apart, in rush hour stopping at every stop,

The malls you have two outlet malls one at each end of international drive use the I trolley to get there there, the main malls are mall at the millennia and the Florida mall, I find the best time to go is 1st thing as by the afternoon there are heaving,

As mentioned, join thedibb. The best Disney website by a mile, it has a great forum and a very informative guidebook as well.

To get to Disney you would need to get the Lynx 8 or 42 to Seaworld and then get the Lynx 50 to the Disney Ticket & Transportation Center. From there you can get a bus to any of the Disney parks and resorts.

When you get on the Lynx bus, ask for a free transfer as this enables you to transfer to another bus free to get to your destination. You could also get the I-Ride from your hotel to Seaworld but that would mean paying twice so not much point. It is ridiculously uncomfy as well :)

There are two large outlets, both called Premium Outlets and they are at either end of I-Drive. Both the I-Ride and Lynx will take you directly to them without changing.

For the malls, to get to the more upmarket Mall at Millenia you would need to get the bus to the Premium Outlets at the North end of I-Drive and from there get a Lynx 24. For the Florida Mall I think the quickest way would be to get the Lynx 42 to Destination Parkway and from there transfer to the Lynx 111.

You can get all the timetables and maps for the bus on https://www.golynx.com It might also be an idea to buy passes for the bus on their website if you are going to be using them quite often. They offer free delivery to the UK. :)

There are loads of restaurants on I-Drive near where you are staying. Wait till around a week before you are going and sign up to all the restaurant websites as they will email you vouchers for a free drink, free starter, bogof's etc etc

Only other advice I can offer is to stay our the British and Irish theme pubs, all crap, poor food and overpriced. ;)
