Sounds like you've moved the WP & WPDB to a new host.

Stupid question... on your domain host have you changed the nameservers to reference the new web host's servers?

It can take around 48 hrs for such a change to propagate around global DNS servers.

Everything is set up correctly on the domain host, and the files and database appear correct, but the server isn't parsing the php files properly, possibly the result of file corruption.

I'm about to upload a copy of the OP's site files and database to my server to see if I get the same result.
How do I add a signature?

Is there a .htaccess file? Might be worth checking the contents if there is.
Of course, I may just be talking b****cks!

thanks for the suggestions, the domain is pointing to the right place.

The .htaccess file is basic at best lol, nothing in it that i can see that would indicate an issue.

figment i am uploading the files to "transfer big files" its only 30 odd mb but taking forever.

I am currently moving a fresh install via ftp the folder and i will upload the database again and change the config file to match the data.

Thanks for the help guys i can't believe this has been such a ball ache lol, last time it was so easy but it was a while ago. I think its clearly something I have done lol

well I can't do much more for tonight now as the deleting of the old database seems to be stuck in limbo and I can't create the new database until that one has gone as I have no spare databases left.

Really appreciate all your help guys and i'll be back in the morning with a fresh mind to hopefully spot my mistake straight away lol.

Figment the upload of those files has just finished so you should get an email by morning I would have thought lol

Thanks for everyones help, I have now managed to sort this out within half an hour this morning.

I did nothing different to things I tried last night but I uploaded a fresh install of the WP files, I uploaded the old database. I then uploaded the WP folders wp-content/admin/include from the old backup to the new server along with the edited config file. (a scenerio I tried last night) Well it worked as expected.

I needed to update the permalinks, I reset them back to default and the back to postname and all pages are viewable. I needed to activate all the plugins again and everything is work as it should be again.

I'm not 100% sure what the issue was but I think wonka may have had something with regards to the DNS change. I only set it to change back to 1&1 nameservers last night instead of the godaddy name servers. The status had changed from "Updating" to "domain status ready" (IIRC that was the exact term) but this morning the domain status has now changed to "ready" same as all the other domains I have.

Seems to be fine now so thank you to everyone that offered some suggestions and solutions it has been very much appreciated

    Easiest way is:

    Install WP on new host

Using the import function within WP import your database

Import the gallery pictures via FTP into the WP Content folder.

Add your theme and activate it

    Reset your permalinks

Yip, sounds like it was just a case of waiting for DNS to get updated around the globe. I've had this issue a few times too. Ultimately you just had to wait for that DNS change to find its way to your particular ISP.

I suspect it was indeed that, should have said it was still updating though rather than implying it was ready lol.
