leaking boiler

hello,
got a lot of help from this forum so will try again:)
got 10years old ideal response 80 combi boiler, it was leaking a tiny bit from time to time but i wasn't too bothered as it was few drops a day. as i live in a flat i serviced it and then trouble started. the professional  said i have leak on a cold water valve as the scale has been removed and he can not tighten it properly? anyway not it is leaking a lot, 3 full buckets a day, and he is saying that part is not available any more and need to change boiler.
common sense is telling me a little bit of some kind of sealant would do the job or that there has to be place where i can buy reconditioned parts at least?
please help as can't afford a new boiler so will just have to shut the whole heating system if he is right.

Take a photo and post.
You can normally get spares for a 10 year old boiler - I just got some for my 20 year old boiler...Perfection takes time: don't expect miracles in a day0 -
Hi.
I believe all the parts are available for this boiler.
If it's on the pipework into or out of the boiler then it would be worth a repair.
If it is leaking from the heat exchanger then it's a write off.
Not a good boiler, although it has lasted well considering.
A photo would be useful.

Hi.
You shouldn't take off the inner door.
'3 buckets a day' and 'cold water valve' suggests it's repairable.
