  • I'm self employed and got a personal loan (for personal use) in Oct 2011. The application was a little more complex as it had to go through my business manager as well as branch manager, however my business and personal accounts are with the same bank so all information was to had, just had to go through different departments.
thankyou honeysucklelou and mufc very useful points for me,any other people with recent experiences would be most appreciated :T

    what is the loan for?
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

You are welcome to your opinion but that is just abusive, obtaining money by deception is fraud, in this case if you wanted a loan for a car there would be something of value, not buying the car is fraud, or arguably theft.

It's simple. If the OP applies for a loan for X purpose when it's for something else, then it's fraud.

of course fraud is unacceptable did you not read my post i haven't done anything i was simply asking for what purposes banks look most favourably upon as for your comment "you clearly know best don't you" what part of my post displayed any signs of me claiming to know best that's why i was here to be pro-active in my preperations for obtaining loans AND FINALLY DON'T CONFUSE ME WITH HAPLESS,HELPLESS INDIVIDUALS DROWNING IN DEBT AND CONCENTRATE ON ACTUALLY TRYING TO ASSIST ON THE 6 POINTS I RAISED

I'd say you're pretty hapless if you make a fraudulent loan application
