To remove an immobiliser

I have recently bought an 1990 MX5 none runner. After having a quick look, I noticed that it has an alarm fitted, but it came with no key fob, or anything to switch it off, so I am now thinking that it needs to be removed.
How hard are immobilisers to remove, is there an easy logical set of steps to follow?
Cheers for any help.

If its an after market unit then it should be simple case of getting haynes manual or such with the car wiring diagram and looking at what wires the unit has spilt and reconnecting.

Assuming it's an aftermarket one as it's a 1990 car it shouldn't be too difficult to remove, just put the ignition wiring back to the original one. You will probably need a workshop manual to do this but Mazda ones are easily available.

Cheers for all the replies. From what I can see so far, it is a Mazda fitted alarm (but still aftermarket I believe, as they were not standard on the 1990 cars). Although that said, the car still turns over, which I would have thought would not happen if the immobiliser was still wired up, so may even be barking up the wrong tree. No spark, cant hear the fuel pump kicking in, so still think it could be an avenue to explore. Again, cheers for the replies!
