Suggestions for suitcase cover????

I dont want this to sound pretentious or OTT. I received a lovely suitcase as a gift and it was ( to me), very expensive. Its a shiny red hard case and after 1 trip through baggage handling, it has a couple of scratches. I want to preserve it as long as I can so thought I'd get a cover for it. However, I cant find a suitable one so I have decided to make one as I'm quite nifty with a sewing machine. So- any suggestions on suitable fabric? Something stretchy but hardwearing. I had thought about neoprene but It may be a bit too thick. Also, any suggestions where to buy.

dont know anything about this company just googled it0 -
What a good idea and not pretentious at all. (We had a new case damaged on it's first outing as it was dropped off the trolley in the rain and was badly scuffed.) It would also make your case easy to identify. I'm sure that it would be easy to make something similar, please let us know if you do make one!The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.

Yes this is exactly what I want, however, its an merican company ( they also sell through EBay), but they dont ship internationally. Cant find anything similar in UK. Also, its a bit expensive. So back to the drawing board.:smileyhea A SMILE COSTS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING0

Maybe I'm being a bit slow here, but the only time you use a suitcase is when you're travelling. What's the point in having something nice-looking if you cover it up whenever you use it? I'd just try to accept that the case will get a bit bashed around.0

I leant that a long time ago; nice luggage is for when you take the car or a train.
On anything else it gets bashed around; we buy new argos type luggage most trips, and if it survives, it gets cleaned re used.
Most airports have the "cling film" wrapper, which protects it from most scuffs http://www.bagwrap.comor you could take private planes in future
Stop! Think. Read the small print. Trust nothing and assume that it is your responsibility. That way it rarely goes wrong.
Actively hunting down the person who invented the imaginary tenure, "share freehold"; if you can show me one I will produce my daughter's unicorn0 -
Yes, well, cant afford new luggage every time I travel, thats why I want to keep it in good condition for as long as I can. And it was a present.:smileyhea A SMILE COSTS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING0

I was going to say much the same casper. If I thought that much of something, I would not use it where it was likely to get damaged. But I would buy a cheap one and use that instead.
Personally, I don't give a damn what my luggage looks like. The worse it looks, the less likely that some low-life will think that there is anything of value in it.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0
