I get my servicing done at a local trusted garage for £80 per car less than the Ford dealership charge so I'm still quids in.0 -
I usually get AA recovery for two people, any car, £96 with £40 cashback, so £54, and service them myself.
I don't bother with homestart, (if I can't fix it at home, they can't) but if I did, it would be £84 all in, no onward travel in that price though.0 -
Ditto.
Try German ADAC. Their Plus membership is €79 (that's around £70) per person or €98 (around £88) for a couple (Partner Plus). It is a Europe-wide cover with home start, onward travel, etc. (anything to do with a breakdown or accident including ambulances, repatriation, medical, hotel & recovery costs for you & your family). No car age restriction, and the only restriction is the vehicle gross weight (must be under 6 tonnes).
In the UK they send out the AA mechanics.
I was thinking of joining.
I've found they impose a limit for UK recovery of 50 miles though, then it's charagable as an extra.
European recovery is fine, just uk they charge extra.
Anyone any experience of this?0
