Ran out of heating oil!! Boulter system.

I ran out of heating oil and now the heating wont work .

We got a delivery this morning.

I assume the oil needs bleeding through , (If thats the right word)

We have tried with no success it is a Boulter system.

Can anyone help ? were freezing..

thats not a good thing to do, think of a car fuel tank the bottom of it is usually full of crap & you don't want that going through to the engine, same with an oil tank, you may now have air or crap in the supply pipe, there will also be a filter on the supply pipe to the boiler & this may be blocked it will need checking/cleaning, you really need a heating engineer with experience of oil, it could be an expensive & valuable lesson learned, never ever let the tank get that low, best of luck

My oil tank has gone dry twice since christmas. The freezing cold was a great incentive for me to learn how to bleed the system!!
