Claiming back tax!!

Hiya this is my first post so be gentle with me!
I need some advice - I've had a few jobs over my 4yrs @ uni and I'm gonna be finishing in May. I did a paid placement for a year in 2004/5 and I'm wondering if it is possible to claim back any of the tax that I've paid during that time as well as during my part-time jobs over the years.
So does anyone know of whether this is possible and the best way to do this?
All suggestions greatly appreciated in beating the Taxman!!
