    yes it does but won't stop the boiler firing up & heating the rads without trv's & that's not what the op was asking they wanted to know what was causing the prob ;)

    Indeed, I agree but OP seems a tad vague on the workings of their system.

    The blurry stat picture is, unless I miss my gaze, is a Drayton RTS3 Indoor frost stat, calibrated between 3 and 10 degrees c, in the picture looks like its on 8, bit hot for the garage.
    Has OP tried winding it down to the minimum yet?
    That gum you like is coming back in style.
  • OP will try lowering to 5 degrees as suggested!

    Apologies for the vagueness, being totally inexperienced with this means I am using the wrong terminology so not explaining myself properly!

    It is set to 8 at the moment so will drop it down a notch and see what happens.

    I suggest you take the ambient temp in your garage late in the evening.
    It doesn't need to be any higher than 5.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
