Hi,
you will love it! We have had some great holidays there, The last one we had my whole family came with us because we raved about the place so much.
I have always taken american $ As the locals prefer this and the rate is excellent at the moment. One of the best days out is at a place called xcaret, I think that's how you spell it, But you will se it advertised everywhere over there. Also walk up to the dock and get a ferry boat over to Cozamel (probably spelt wrong) but it's where the cuise ships dock, and it makes a good cheap day out if you buy your tickets at the ferry port.
Happy Holidays.. Im sure you will have a good one!

We took American dollars (purchased here) when we went to Mexico last month and didn't have any problems paying for things, we tipped the staff in dollars and paid in shops etc. The only thing that we needed peso's for was the local bus and that was about it. One thing to be careful of though is that both currencies are displayed as $ so before you start haggling just confirm which currency you are dealing in !!
We went to Isla Mujeres and did the swimming with the dolphins thing, it was brilliant and can definately recommend. It's also really good at Chichen Izta but quite a long bus ride and a pain with people trying to sell you stuff everywhere....ITV Winners Club #87 :eek:0
