Yep they charge fine, certainly that has been my experience with Casio and Canon, also with things like MP3 players etc. Enjoy the trip and take plenty of pics!

If you can find a Wall Mart buy there........you won't get cheaper. If not try Walgreens, CVS etc.

  • Went to Vegas last November and the price of SD cards was horrendous. I had to buy one because the card in the camera was nearly full but a 1gb card was about $80!!
They are a fraction of this in places such as Tesco or Novatec.
High £ does not always mean bargains.
    Have a great time anyway.
  • Need to make sure any charger is suitable for worldwide use - e.g. 120V 60Hz for the US.

As an example the website below, (not a recommendation, just the first hit I found on google), lists which are UK only and which are not.

If you are going to be using a car it is worthwhile getting a charger that operates from the cigar lighter.
A word of caution, I used rechargable batteries in my digi camera and only got 4 or 5 pictures with each charge, it will vary with each camera so it would worth checking 'use life' before any investment in charger.

Rechargable batteries are not all the same and vary in the ammount of charge they can hold from about 1500ma up ! Try and get rechargable batteries with at least 2200ma capacity. They will last much longer in a digital camera. Duracell rechargables came out well did well in a recent test. I use a sony charger and 2300 batteries. Often much cheaper from online sellers as well.
  • Hi,
If you do decide to buy any electronics in New York, please, please keep to the reputable shops. Camera shops such as City Circuit, Wolfe etc as well as Walmart (already mentioned) Macy's, Bloomingdales etc., would be good starting points. There is a street in New York which is full of electronic shops and I have read on Trip Advisor to give them a very wide berth indeed. Having recently been 'taken to the cleaners' big style in South Beach, the advice I give here comes first hand from the Miami Consumer Department. Please be careful, the sharks are waiting to get you! Regards - sally

Just to say that the first uniross charger on that site for £22.99 is only £9.99 on amazon, so whatever you do, dont buy anything form there without checking the usual places first.
