Toilet part-blockage

Apologies if you're eating when you read this
My toilet is flushing but not always 100% effective. After investigation it looks as though there is a solid #2 stuck just beyond the U-bend (can't get my hand any further round).
Obviously (?) I need to break the blockage up - the implement needs to be flexible to go round the curves, yet rigid enough to do the job. Would a piece of hosepipe do the job, do you think?
Plunger has not worked.

Yes anything rigid would work, eg hose pipe, electrical cable etc.
Just got to be careful that you don't scratch the pan0 -
i onced used an old fishing rod. (nothing else was close to hand).

I would have though that a short length of hose should do the trick. Or maybe you should change your diet.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
This may help, if the plunger you have has a long handle ,flush the toilet so the pan fills up, it should not overflow. Then plunge at a good ratw, the water will help break anything up. A metre drain rod with a 4" or 6" plunger on would be ideal. They are worth buying as they clear most blocks. A 15mm pipe bending spring would be easy to buy from any plumbers merchant. Good Luck0

If you have an old fashioned curtain wire with a wee screw in hook attached would help break up the blockage.
A towel manually shoved as far as it will go and pulled out quickly might do the job.
The above have worked for me:oI'm not that way reclined
Jewelry? Seriously? Sheldon you are the most shallow, self-centered person I have ever met. Do you really think that another transparently-manipu... OH, IT'S A TIARA! A tiara; I have a tiara! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me!0 -
