Please help, I don't know which Satnav to go for, I definately need one with western europe maps pre loaded on it and have seen the Garmin Nuvi 350 and the TomTom one Europe both reasonably priced. Does anyone know which is the best one to go for.
Thanks

I would vote for Garmin anytime. More accurate mapping and better routing algorithms as well as a superb customer support. Don't get me wrong as TomTom is an excellent piece of kit (I use both!).it has more bells & whistles and a slightly better GUI. As routing and mapping are more important to me, then I would choose the Garmin.sammybo22 wrote:Please help, I don't know which Satnav to go for, I definately need one with western europe maps pre loaded on it and have seen the Garmin Nuvi 350 and the TomTom one Europe both reasonably priced. I have just seen on amazon the tomtom one uk plus free western europe maps. does anyone know how you upload these to the unit itself do you need an extra memory card. Once uploaded does this make it the equivalent of a tomtom one europe??
Thanks again

Don't know about TomTom one as I use navigator but it would be either transferring the whole lot from the supplied DVD onto the internal memory or as you suggested onto an external memory card. You should not however need an extra card for these things (even if they take an external card) as you can replace the maps (say of the UK) with those of another country when you need them and therefore fit them onto the usually smaller sized cards that come as a standard. At least that's what I do for the Garmin i3. You can find all your answers here:sammybo22 wrote:I have just seen on amazon the tomtom one uk plus free western europe maps. does anyone know how you upload these to the unit itself do you need an extra memory card.
