Wrought iron railings

I need 22 metres of 1.2m height railings. A simple pattern - nothing fancy and included in the 22m will be a small garden gate. We've just been quoted £3175 including vat. Personally the alarm bells started sounding when the guy asked our budget, but had to go away to calculate the cost and couldn't tell us straight off a ball park figure!
Does this sound reasonable?
Thanks!

We paid £750 for a 6 meter length of railings with a simple ball at the top of each rail, these were powder coated black with gold balls.
We also paid £550 for a pair of driveway gates in the same design and colour about 6 months later. I do know the powder coating added a lot to the overall cost, but i didn't want to be painting them in a couple of years time.
If yoy work out the price per meter for yours, it's not too far away, but are they painted for that price?
The company didn't give me a price on site, they sent a quote via letter.Sponsored by Tesco Clubcard Points !!0 -

OMG that's steep. I just paid £100 and a square of railings 7ft wide by 6ft high. There were scrolls everywhere on it as well (quite intricate). It was cheaper if I painted it myself.0
