windows live messenger with vista

hi,
I have windows vista home basic :mad: on a acer aspire 3682wxmi and when i try to open live mesenger i get a error message saying windows live messenger has to close. I then try to look online for a reason why but nothing happens. so i contacted microsoft but they dont know what could be the problem. can any of you help.

sorry, i cant help but i just wanted to let you know that you are not alone :mad: I have the same laptop as you with vista basic and am having the exact same problem
I did post the other day about DEP but no one seemed to be able to help with it. Hopefully someone will be along soon with answers for both of us!

One way to run Live is by right clicking on it and then selecting "run as administrator" Ive tried this and it has worked. I have to do it everytime I want to use it, bit annoying!Smoke-Free since 15/11/08

hey also if you dont want to have to run as administrater then you can just download this patch and it makes it work without having to run as administater0
