MSE News: Fury as Lloyds insurance cull puts pets' lives 'at risk'

Thankyou oldvicar. It is very sad that pets lives are at risk. Is it possible to campaign for their health services to have a charity status?0

I'm normally the first to stick up for the banks, and their perogative to stick to their T's and C's. Especially so when it's about something that doesn't affect me and hence I wouldn't want the cost to be passed onto customers in general. But this behaviour is outrageous!0

very sad, why is it that we don't have an nhs for animals
I know! Let's copy the DVLA and force all pet owners to get a pet licence for £1000 per year, and then you can have free healthcare for your pet. (You'll still have to pay for medicines unless your pet is pregnant or under 1.) Of course, when an "uninsured" dog bites an old grandma then everyone's premium will rise.
(My cousin is a vet and he retired at 40. He doesn't need a pension.)0 -
well, children don't either0

IF you can't pay a large vet bill (and who knows how our circumstances may change even if we could now) I would urge every pet owner to open a bank account for their pets and put in it as much as they can afford each month to pay vet bills. I've long been doing this and large companies call it' self insurance'. Do it as soon as you get your pet. It soon adds up, and you can use it to pay for routine treatments as well as building up a lump sum for any unexpected illnesses to save you making life or death decisions based on your financial position. If you don't use it, then all the better and the money is in your bank account rather than the insurance companies.Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!0 -
I stand by my views regardless.
sorry you feel the need to resort to insults to a post made in good faith, so I've no more to add0 -
Discussed on BBC Radio 4's Money Box today. Legal advice was that disclaimers in the small print about Halifax being able to end the policy by giving notice cannot negate the headlines that cats and dogs would be covered "for life". There are precedents and the Ts&Cs if unfair cannot be enforced.

I was on another site when I saw a link to this http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?336842-Halifax-Pet-Insurance&p=3710245&viewfull=1#post3710245, I don't know if it'll be of help to anyone0
