10k to put away

Hi folks,
I have 10k I would like to put away and forget about for a few years.
What would be my best return?
Let's say over a 5 year period?

Kind regards 76C

It all depends on your attitude to risk and what you feel comfortable with (as 5 yrs is at the beginning of time periods you could consider non cash investments).

A 5 year fixed rate ISA and savings bond could be the best if you can accept no investment risk.

There are shares that pay higher in dividends, but these carry investment risk as do funds and Investment trusts. Be aware that if inflation rears its head your cans is subject to infaltion risk and if interest rates rise during the 5 yr period that is another risk.
