Martin did an analysis a while ago about investing in NS&I, and I myself keep buying bonds, but I have NEVER heard of anyone winning anything bigger than £100. Have you?

My brother won a grand about three or four years ago.0

My late father won £5000 in the early 70s - equivalent to about £25,000 today?
When I had Premium Bonds I never won more than £100 at a time.0 -
My whole family have always had Premium Bonds as long as I've been alive, nobody's ever won more than £50!0

I've had bonds since they went on sale in 1956, but have never won a penny. Perhaps it's because I only have £13 worth. A cheapskate, or unlucky for some?

My brother has just won £50 though he has a much higher holding than I do.0 -
does not take much effort to beat premium bonds.
step 1) put amount you want to invest in highest possible interest account.
step 2) gamble said interest gained on anything from scratchcards, lotto tickets, horses, casino or what ever takes your fancy.
step 3) what ever you win from the bets you place is your prize.0 -
There have been people here who posted (prob on the PB thread) that they won 5K and 10K- and I if I am remembering right there was someone who (or their relative) won 100K. But ic an't remember any reports of 1mil.
I have 100 worth, and won 100 the month after I bought them lol.0 -

My Gran and Gramps won very regularly on the Premium Bonds.
Some years just £50, biggest prize was £10,000.
I don't know how they managed it!
They were always doing well on the Lottery too. I guess some people just have lifelong "luck".0 -
My OH's little sister won £5k last year, and doesn't even have that big a holding.
I've never owned any myself - would just do as Russe11 says instead whenever I fancy a flutter.0 -
