Cutting Slate Tiles

I want to cut a few slate tiles, and lay them on the floor of an inglenook fireplace to make a feature. What should I use to cut them? Would I be able to hire something? Its literally 6 tiles, so as cheap as possible. Thanks

I cut my slate tiles for my logstore roof with a hammer and chisel and it cut perfectly as long as you get the right grain.0

Do you have a friend with a grinder you can borrow?
A stone cutting wheel should work.0 -

Our roofer had something like this and made short work of cutting slates, kind of nibbled away at them;
