Road Tax 2012/2013

Hello, I was just wondering does anyone know were I can get the road tax rates from April 2012?

I am just trying to budget for our van and car tax which is due in May and July and just wanted to know if they have gone up in price. My car is £130 and the van is £210 for 2011-2012. I know they may not be available yet.

Thanks

  • The least we'll expect is it will rise with inflation like last year. My car is the £130 tax band for 2011/2012 too. It was £125 2010/2011 so expect it to go up another fiver.

Thank you LeeUK, I think it went up by £5 for the car in 2011/2012 and £10 for the van so I would expect it do something similar in 2012/2013

  • As Road Tax hasn't existed since 1937 you're better off looking for the price of Vehicle Excise Duty.
    It's only numbers.
  • Thank you Marco for you help

  • Wikipedia shows some historical rates going back to 2005.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_Excise_Duty

This may help you estimate the expected increase. From that data it looks like tax bands are hit with on increase of £5 or £10 each year.

Yes we all know road tax does not exist any more. But it is still a tax you have to pay to be able to use or park your vehicle on a public road.
