You're much better off eating a single stick of Twix.
Are you the diet police or something?? :cool:0 -

It brought back wonderfull memories about my wee granny who used to make time to do these types of cooking projects with us as kids. It just made me smile and hope they remember doing stuff like that with me. Aw a bit of nostalga is good for the soul.
we made fairy cakes today and i found a half eaten one on the floor when we tidied all the toys away lol
we've tried sandwich biccies before but they both just try to peel them apart and i wonder whats the point.
maybe when they're a bit older...Bossymoo

empire biscuits rock!0 -
Well the empire biscuits got scoffed tonight and they were yummy although really sweet, as said previously the kids took one bite and they were discarded. Im going to make rocky road tray bake or banana muffins next time so the older kids can help too. My husband is loving all the sweet treats. Has anyone got any other ideas?
I usually use jelly tots for topping on empire biscuits but couldnt find the pack today thats why i used the sprinkles, my ds loved doing the spinkles so im glad i couldnt find them. I make scottish tablet too but only when my friends ask me to make it as its way too sweet to give to the kids.0 -
I have never heard of these, they sound good fun.
I think a bit of home made sweet indulgence is better than a bought twix. Firstly ...some calories are expended in the making (ok, thats a cruddy justofication but it works for me!), and secondly you don't train a tilside reflex to grab a bar of chocolate.
. In an otherwise healthy diet a little sugar won't kill, but getting over wrought about it might lead to problems which could. 0 -
Gingertony, if you are not afraid of mess, what about lamingtons? Sponge cut into squares and then rolled in chocolate icing then coconut.0

I agree with your sentiments, midnight raven. Anyone who hasn't tasted an Empire Biscuit has had a deprived life. Same thing goes for Le*s Macaroon bars, clootie dumplings, square slice and haggis0 -

I absolutely LOVE tablet and could eat it by the lorryload. Why did God allow sugar to make us fat? (big sigh)0 -

Square slice is a large rectangular sausage, also known as 'lorne' sausage. It's cut into slices and usually fried. One slice normally fits on a morning roll and many folk smother it in brown sauce0
