    Thankfully, they replied to my email and told me I just needed to provide the contact details of my references from the past three years, phew! Thanks for your help everyone!

    Thats fairly usual, in the UK employees typically don't ask for references, employers do. Whereas in the US for example it is usual for the employee to request them on leaving and carry a portfollio of sorts. LinkedIn has sort of started that with 'recommendations'.
