  • Went about 4 years ago at End of May. The pool is on the small side back then for the size of the park but that I belive has been upgraded. Good days out in Norwich, GT Yarmouth, Lowerstoft and a childrens animal/play place that was just round the corner from a micro brewery! Park itself is large with plent of places to eat onsite, but as normal the food is OK, nothing to shout about. Entertainment is in the main showbar and this was very busy.

Our van on arrival was grubby but once we complained they did come out to it within an hour.

Its not a bad park, the pool is ok not great, there is a Lidl just down the road and a nice chippy opposite the park that is cheaper than the onsite one.

There are 2 clubs onsite the main one near the entrance that can get extremely busy and there is a quieter one at the back corner of the site both have entertainment , also near the club at the back is a Bingo place its a right throw back to the 60's and quite fun, none of the fancy electronic bingo boards like the arcades, you sit on plastic patio chairs :rotfl:

Depending on ages of the kids there is daytime entertainment in a room above the arcade which is quite good

A very nice Chinese takeaway opposite the co-op,there is one onsite but didnt look very nice.

Also there is a Toby Carvery at Gorleston just south of Yarmouth, check the website for free ice cream vouchers :)

Also if out at Yarmouth check the free local papers for BOGOF at Spudulike for a cheap meal

If you want a day out they Pettitts is good for younger ones depends on your age range ? , if you buy tickets at Haven they should be cheaper

Also Pleasurewood Hills at Lowerstoft is also a very good day put there are often BOGOF vouchers

  • i LOVE LOVE LOVE caister and GY.....caister holiday park is a nice place to stay, good entertainment for all, cosy caravans, a few places to eat, mini golf...but the best stuff is outside the park...the seafront has got everything you need..arcades, places to eat, shops (and a town centre directly off the sea front), a theme park place for kiddies and adults....a 30 min drive to norfolk is worth it to....between caister and the sea front is a dog track if you like betting and stuff....also a market on a weekday and a saturday in the town centre and there is a shop called Lathams about 15 min drive from caister, its like a QD/Wilko kind of shop, on its own in the middle of no where but its a great shop and its HUGE with loads of bargains from house stuff, garden, to clothes and food....

iv been great yarmouth twice a year every year since i was 16 (im 28 on sunday) and its my favourite uk place to go :)

The onsite shop was a bit expensive, so I would stock up on items at the nearby Tesco or Lidl's. The onsite shop did nice freshly baked french sticks and rolls if you wanted to make these up for lunch. For the beach, which is directly accessed from the park you could stock up on cheap buckets and spades. Great Yarmouth had lots to do and a nice shopping area.

The pub onsite "Mash and Barrell" I think it was called did curry and cavery night deals and kids meals. The kids liked the ice creams that were in polar bear type cups.

I found that they had a launderette onsite and on the day before coming home put the washing in the big washing machine and dryer so went home with very little washing. I so hate the loads of washing after holidays at home so found this great. I seem to think it wasnt that expensive either.

I stayed in a chalet at Caister in July so not sure what the situation is in relation to bedroom heating in a standard caravan. It might be worth bringing portable fan heaters with you if there is no heating in the bedrooms. I know a friend of mine stayed at a Haven caravan in October and she said she went out and bought a fan heater and extra blankets, as she said it was cold at night in the bedrooms.
