nPower Increased Unit Cost

Options
Following a uSwitch recommendation, I signed up for "nPower's Gas Sign On-Line Tariff".

I've just been sent a letter from nPower saying that the tariff has been increased because my house is "supplied by an IGT network".

The new rates I've been given are:

Up to 4572 kWh pa = 4.698p / 4.933p (No VAT / VAT)
Over 4572 kWh pa = 2.177p / 2.286p (No VAT / VAT)

Any good? I have 14 days to keep or bin (and remain with SWALEC).

Britsh Gas and SSE don't charge a premium for customers on an IGT network. I don't think Ebico do either. EDFdo charge a fee, but waive it if you are a dual fuel customer. nPower, Powergen & Scottish Power all charge a premium. nPower's premium is currently £30 +vat per year.

I would recommend staying with Swalec until the current round of price changes feeds through, then do a comparison.
  • Cheers Tripled. Confirmed what I thought.
