Am i too late to pursue a claim?!

Hi all

Some advice needed please as I'm a bit 'green' when it comes to all this!

I had a mortgage with Yorkshire Building Society which I took out in 2000. The initial amount was approx £52,000 and I remortgaged a couple of times for home improvements finally reaching about £82k. I changed lender in March 2008 and paid off my mortgage with YBS at that time. I have some old papers (and the mortgage account number) and on checking them earlier, I paid £9.30 a month in Mortgage Payment Insurance for the 8 years. As the loan was paid off in 2008, am I too late to claim PPI?

In addition, I had a car loan in 2002 with Renault Finance which was paid off in 2005 when I bought a new car with them (taking out a new finance agreement). The latter one was settled in approx March 2006. I don't have any of the old paperwork or account details but I am 99% sure I paid PPI on the loans. Is it too late to claim?

Same thing with a Virgin Credit card and also a HSBC credit card. I have just paid off the HSBC credit card and closed the Virgin one in approx March 2008.

Is there any point in me persuing this? My friend's mum received a £10,000 (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) PPI payment from her credit card company last week but she still has her credit card with them.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.:):)
