How to stain/oil/protect brand new pine doors

Morning all,
How should I be doing this? Stain, varnish, oil, wax etc?
They are brand new 1930 replica doors in pine but at present they look too 'fresh' and 'new', so would like to dull down and make more natural....They will have brass door knobs
How would you recommend I go about this and what products do you recommend?
I have some OSMO Polyx Hardwax oil that I used for the doors, would this suit?
Here are the doors

Thanks
Sam

I'm a big fan of the OSMO Hardwax oil - it's easy to put on and looks great. I've used it for oak doors, floors and stairs.A bank is a place that will lend you money if you can prove you don't need it.0

I agree Bob on our oak floor, how about against the pine?
have you used danish mchale on pine doors? any pics?
Thanks0 -
Don't know, I don't have any pine stuff.
Seeing as you've already got some, why don't you try a small bit on the corner of one of your doors? You could always sand it back if it doesn't suit you.A bank is a place that will lend you money if you can prove you don't need it.0 -
i would go for a furniture wax http://www.briwax.co.uk/products/briwax.html
it has a great finish to it0 -
Thanks Nick, they look great. I have had a door dipped and stripped and the colour is different to the new doors I have. Presumerably using the darker wax polishes will 'dull down' my new doors to the colour of my original one?0

i would think that something like the antique pine would be a good match , if you can find a supplier they may have samlpes on display or a colour card which may help -

Try coffee I do not jest....strong cold instant coffee. Its what they used during the war to colour wood.
I've used it & it looks ace - really old, then varnish on top. Honestly.
Filter coffee doesen't work though - dunno why0
