Number of "Thanks" record

Has anyone noticed that something has gone wrong with the number of "Thanks" recorded to peoples' accounts recently.

I saw a couple of instances this week where members were credited with several thousand Thanks for postings totalling about a fifth of that number.

That's not impossible, I suppose, but now I find that my figures have changed overnight.

My Thanks were running somewhere in the 600's until last night - then this morning they are showing at over 1,100 and the number of posts that I have been thanked for has also dramatically altered.

I've looked, but none of my recent posts have resulted in an avalanche of responses from grateful users so I assume things have gone wrong somewhere with "them at the other end".
- it's always "them" isn't it, when things go wrong - like when the tv signal goes off - "Is it us or them?"

I know that the forum had a few problems last night (I couldn't get on and then there was a general message about the forum being off) so perhaps something has borked.

They wouldn't be regular posters on the Old Style MoneySaving board, would they?

Reciprocal thanking to a bizarre degree goes on on that board. You post to mention that it's Friday, 30 people thank you and then, when they reply to say, 'So it is', you thank all of them. They all have a 'Thanks' count that is a multiple of the number of times they've posted. Wierd, and totally defeats the object of having a 'Thanks' count.

thats typical of any forum with a thanks feature - the regulars use it to thank other regulars and build up their clique.
