can paypal give you a cheque?

I want to empty my paypal account, I know you can put it straight into your bank! but I wondered whether they will send a cheque? if so do they charge and if not why not!! icon10.gif

I tried adding my savings ac to the list so I could put the money straight in there but it wouldn't let me so I wanna cheque!!

    I've never heard of them using cheques, I think they deal only with electronic transfers.

    As for 'why not' it would cost them more to employ someone to either write a cheque and post it, or have one printed electronically, check your snail mail address and buy a stamp. Electronic transfers can be done instantly in batches and save them money.

    I'm not sure how professional it would look for a company like paypal to be delaing with cheques and snail mail.

    I would be quite horrified if they suggested anything other than a direct payment for me.

    In the US though they have paypal debit cards which sound OK, it means you can use your paypal balance to pay for goods in shops, or even draw out cash from a cashpoint machine. Maybe we will get somehting like that in the future?
