Faulty Micro$oft Xbox 360

Phoned M$ today as my 360 (which I bought in sept) had the dreaded red ring of death. Their policy appears to be to send you a label by email which you stick on a plain box (which you provide) then you arrange for a courier to come collect and then you need to wait up to 15 working days to get it back! By the time you've taken the label and courier into account, that could be the best part of 4 weeks.
As I bought the Xbox from boots, phoned them up and they offered to either swap for a new unit or refund (immediately if I took it to a store).
So one trip to boots later and I went out to buy a 360. Tried gamestation first as they had a reasonable deal but, just after I'd paid the cash, they informed me that I only get a month guarantee with them, the rest is with M$. Got a refund straight away then got a more expensive (but more bundlesome) deal from HMV.
Got to love it when people seem to be treating the sale of goods act in such a cavelier manner.
Cheers
Jeff

Microsoft have no responsibility under the Sale of Goods Act, Boots as the retailers were the ones responsible and I assume it was sorted out quickly with them.
Incidentally, Gamestation's "policy" is a load of rubbish and if that's what they are advertising it should be reported to Trading Standards as stores cannot restrict consumers' statutory rights.0
