Weird spam/scam domain purchase email

Received just now:
From: David Jordan acquisitions2012 AT axdir.com
I would like to acquire your domain.
send from device 0202455
It's sent in plaintext (no HTML trickery), and received directly from mail.axdir.com
The owner of axdir.com (newly registered) seems to own 200 other domains, all of a spammy kind of nature.
What's going on here?
(I do own a couple of domains, but they've not been named in the email, and it smells off....)
