Can someone tell me where electrical sockets (for small appliances -kettles etc) should be placed in a new kitchen?
Should they be near the Base unit worktops or higher up under the top cupboards?

I normally install 6" above finished worktop height - this gives the most options for tile fitting 'neatness' afterwards - assuming you're tiling...

As above the centre line on ours are 6" above the worktop on a new build (so will be OK for building control).
I might adjust slightly to suit whatever tiles you choose. TBH it never crossed my mind at the time.0 -
I normally fit them 1100mm from floorHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Taking into account that kettles, toasters or food mixers all have very short flex, designed to plug into sockets just above the worktops.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Well our kitchen has these plug towers that come out of the worktop and I wish we had normal plugs as it makes the wires look very messy. I would place the plugs near the worktops and in the corners to keep everything tidy.0
