Challenging Bank Charges

Hi All
Need some advice or even share your own experiences around this question.
I have received two letters from my bank advising me that I am being charged £111 for unauthorised overdraft payments (yet approved by the bank). I seriously cannot afford to pay them this month and plan to phone my bank tomorrow.
Your advice would be fab. I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks
M

Talk to them. Apologise for your transgression. Ask nicely for them to waive the charges.
Don't go in with the approach of blaming the bank for your error.I am being charged £111 for unauthorised overdraft payments (yet approved by the bank).0 -

Hi All
Thanks for your helpful responses. I called the bank and have an appointment set up for Tuesday to talk about my finances.
Hopefully we can arrive at some sort of agreement.
Thanks again.

Hi all
Here's an update. I met with the bank on Tuesday and the meeting went well. Found out today that they are going to waiver £42 of the charges, however due to the charges coming out on 20th Feb I have to extend my overdraft which is going to cost me £20 anyway. Not sure if this was the outcome I would have hoped for but I guess it's better than nothing.
Thanks

Folks
I need some advice, having thought about what my current bank is offering me in terms of a charges waiver, I've decided I'm going to change banks but would like recommendations taking into account my personal circumstances. Look forward to hearing from anyone.
Thanks

If you can't earn more than you spend all banks will charge you - that is a fact.
If your credit rating is good take your pick of banks!0
