After some nice advice on here i wrote my letter requesting a refund of PPI. I Had no response so wrote another one this week. About ten mins ago someone rang and said it was regarding PPI. They said Black horse are trying to overturn my claim and i need to ring them tommorrow and "log" my claim officially!!!!! WTH? My OH took the call? I checked there webby and it says they have 8 weeks to get in touch, my OH says i need to send the letter again, but recorded delivery? Something seems amiss to me x
The feeling i got when i confirmed my place studying criminology at Exeter Uni was brilliant!!!!!
The pride my children told me they had in me was even better!!!!! # setting positive example to children is OUTSTANDING!!!! !:grouphug::grouphug::smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea

Give black Horse a ring, this way you will find out if the call is legitimate.

Hmmm. Had a similar experience of late. Have a claim pending with Black Horse. Submitted it 10 weeks ago and thought I'd contact them to 'remind' them that they only had another 2 weeks to go. Before I had chance to call them, the phone rang. Was told it was Black Horse, that they wanted to check or two things regarding my claim. Chap seemed a little uncertain but the line wasn't brilliant. Confirmed that I had existing cover/protection elsewhere at the time of the claim and it was substantial.
After putting the phone down, I realised that I hadn't been asked the usual security questions, etc. Thankfully had only confirmed to this chap that I had insurance elsewhere and didn't give any personal details. Dialled 1471 and copied down the number - it was a Lloyds TSB number. Still wasn't happy so contacted Black Horse and they confirmed that nobody had contacted me. Took a note of the number and they dialled it - it went to an automated message that said that Black Horse no longer sells PPI policies, etc. and advised to call the real Black Horse number. Was then put through to the security department and they ran through some details with me, asked if they could contact me again the following day once they'd done some investigating. I said yes, and that I would also contact me telephone provider to query it.
By all accounts some individuals are being sold data via a third party that lists who has made a claim and with which company. From there, it's a small jump to getting in touch and putting the frighteners on people.0 -
Thanks for this FlySi,thought it could be something like this, claims cos are making 12 million pounds out of this ppi mis sell claiming, they are disgusting, you can claim for the cost of a stamp or phone call in most cases, and keep all redress if you were mis sold.0
