Aldi are selling them from Thursday 16th Feb, and I was thinking about getting one with my birthday money.
It sounds like, of the citrus trees, it's the more cold-tolerant - but is that so, what are its demands.. and does it produce?

Yes, it does produce... boy oh boy does it! It's covered at the moment, and they are delicious (if a little tart, but all the better for it.
Ours grows in a conservatory, unheated over winter, south-facing, so hot in summer, when we poke it out onto the patio. Special treatment? None really. I gave it a bigger pot, and shove some Phostrogen on now & then.
There's a lemon tree there as well, also produces heavily, and gives us around 20 lemons a year, even at a small size.
By the way, Aldi garden fruit trees are in the shops today (well, yesterday as well), despite not being in the catalogue yet... I might just stick a thread on to that effect!)0 -
I'll try an image: There... Kumquat on the right, lemon on the left, and snow everywhere!0 -
Blinkin' heck, DD, that's defintely well covered, and very weird seeing the snow behind it
I may well pick myself one up, then. But my Aldi certainly didn't have anything as of yesterday... so I'll have to keep my eyes open. Thanks for the photo.0 -
