Mystery iPad

My mum's just called me to say a mystery iPad has turned up from Viking with an invoice saying nil to pay. She certainly hasn't ordered it, she doesn't even know what one is! I only put my own address down when comping, have only put hers for a couple of comps that end in months and months because we are moving in a few months time but this had her name on it. I'm super excited that it might be for ME! I highly doubt my sister, a student would have ordered one, and if she did she surely would have ordered it to her address at uni. BAFFLED, have searched for comps, I've entered loads of iPad ones so no idea - mum is ringing customer services to see where it has come from, they might be the distributor not the agency running the competition. OOOOOH

Hi, this is what happened - was feeling very despondent after hearing hence the bluntness of my second post!
Ipad turns up, mum rings Viking- they tell her it seems to be a scam, they've had loads over the last couple of days, people ringing up saying iPad has turned up out of the blue. From what I understood last night, someone orders with bogus details, then they hang around the house and intercept the delivery man, then cancel the payment which leaves Viking chasing the victim for payment for goods she knows nothing about.
Anyway, they told her someone would come directly from Viking on Monday to collect the goods. BUT - there have been developments! This is what she's just emailed me:
what a scam!doorbell went at 8.20 am with a driver reportedly from viking asking to pick up the parcel.
had no id but a signing machine - in an unmarked white van
closed door on him and checked with viking - not their man!!! told him we couldnt hand it over - he blustered a little and went away - sat in his van for a van gesticulating wildly on his phone for a bit!!!
feeling very vulnerable here!
dad got the number plate so calling the police in a bit to report

I think just for ipads....terrifying the lengths people will go to to rip the innocent off! I was worried about people barging in too. Hopefully the police will work with Viking to catch the bleeders!Wins 2012: £50 Love2Shop voucher, Lets Dance tickets, Juan Zelades CD, bluetooth speaker, Blackberry 9360 with £30 credit a month, Chocolate, Maybelline Goodie Bag, Hunter wellies!0

Wow, that is truly awful.
I've read of something like this on here before. Well, i think it was on here. But, instead of an ipad, it was a mobile phone.
Hope your Mother is ok!0
