Sounds like the drinking is his way of hiding from his issues. Have you suggested he speaks to someone for help with this?0

Confiscate any and all debit/credit cards, chequebooks, etc., and allot him a weekly/monthly allowance. Sounds drastic, but what a mess.======================================

I admire your spirit, but I don't think you can do much, really.
As I suspect you've already worked out, you can't stop somebody else drinking or spending-they have to want to for themselves. You can draw up budgets until you're blue in the face-they see every penny saved as ten spare to spend upon themselves.
I take it you have your own bank account? Go on holiday with a friend this year.import this0 -

Erm, if this isn't made up, why the heck are you still in the relationship?“In any moment of decision the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing at all.” - Roosevelt0
