being charged wrong tariff on prepayment meter

Hi all yesterday i thought id check my gas meter due to be using a hell of a lot of gas recently to find out my prepayment meter is set to the wrong tarriff. currently being charged on two tarriffs 1= 8.748 per unit kwh and 2= 4.029 per unit kwh with no standing charge. Were i should be paying a flat rate of 3.848 per kwh with a 23.10p daily standing charge. Now i contacted my supplier they said it could be up to a week before they get back intouch about the issue:mad:
Now I've been with these since Nov 2011 and was under the impression that when you enter your new payment card in the meter and tarriff / setting are changed? Will i be refunded for being over charged ?

Hi,
don't think you are being overcharged, looks as though the daily standing charge is included in the dearer primary units, about 5 units a day (8.748 - 4.029 = 4.719 x 5 = 23.595).0 -
You could take a good look at the total cost per Kwh. The differance between summer and winter when in summer you are paying the higher rate most of the time.If you have your energy statement for the year look at the total cost paid and Kwh used.
With N Power on line 23 I would have paid 365 days at 32.5p + 2200kwh at 3.092 total £186.67 then plus 5% vat.
With EBIco same price for all I will pay 2200Kwh at 4.788p= £105.36 this inc VAT
So n power can give me my own money back have a interest free loan from me for a year.
As you can I'm a low user you must get the total used in Kwh over the year which gives you a better way to calculate the best deal for you.
If any energy company asks you what do you pay each month and then says well we can beat that, do not use them.
You can not work out anyones best deal with out the energy statement.0 -
Sorry, to point out the obvious, but the reason you may have been using 'a hell of a lot of gas recently' is maybe due to the exceptionally cold weather? No free lunch, and no free laptop0
